The Cold Spring School Foundation approved a grant request of $150,000 from the school board to fund a major renovation of the school’s play field. The renovation project includes removal of the existing grass, renewing and leveling the soil, gopher netting, and new sod lawn. The project covers the entire playfield. Work will begin this summer and completion is expected for the opening of school next fall.

In addition, the Foundation approved a $100,000 grant to the District’s general fund to support the school’s specialist programs in art, library, music, physical education, technology, and Spanish. This on-going support provided by the Foundation is critical to Cold Spring School’s ability to offer an enriching and comprehensive instructional program for our students. Board Member Elections Next Fall The terms of two Cold Spring School Board Members – Meryl Winnikoff and Laura Wyatt -- expire at the end of 2008. The election for these two positions is scheduled at the general election on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. For individuals interested in running for these seats, the candidate-filing period opens July 14, 2008 and closes at 5:00 PM August 8, 2008.
