LANGUAGE ARTS: We continued to work on letter buddies this week, finding and identifying the lower case letter and corresponding upper case letter. Tip Tappers (t and d) were added to our Lip Poppers (b and p). See if your child knows the sounds and which is the “noisy brother” and which is the “quiet brother”. We enjoyed a story called Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear? It was fun to see the similarities between this story and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? This story also tied into our science unit on the 5 senses. We created our own version of Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?
MATH: We finished our first math chapter and took a math test. We have started our second chapter that will include pattern activities. We are also creating a pattern for our daily calendar.
SCIENCE: We continue our unit on our five senses. Each child completed a book on the 5 senses and additionally is completing many activities that continue to reinforce our senses and how we use them. We even used our sense of taste to locate bitter, sour, salty and sweet on our tongue.
SOCIAL STUDIES: Our new social studies program starts with rules and why we need them. We will continue to review our class rules as we begin this program.
Thank you!
