Thank you to our wonderful Fall Festival volunteers! What a festive afternoon for the whole family! A special thank you to Erin Goligoski for organizing our amazing volunteers!
Language Arts: Sounds, sounds, all around! We will continue to focus on our letter sounds and how to blend them together to make words. We will also begin our last wordless picture book series. Our next series will have words...how exciting! We will be creating poems about Fall, and our theme of thankfulness for the month of November. Our writing focus will continue to be capital letter and lower case letter formation. We will also be working hard on dictating stories that have a beginning, middle, and ending.
Math: We are finishing up our chapter on patterns and left vs. right directions. Matching and counting will be our focus for the next few weeks. We will learn that numbers match sets of objects. The students will continue to count daily by ones and tens. I will also teach them how to count by five's. Number formation practice will also continue.

Science/Social Studies: Our science unit continues to be the human body. We are slowly learning the names of our bones, muscles, and major organs. We will explore Native Americans and Thanksgiving in our next Social Studies unit. We will be performing a Thanksgiving play for you! Details to come.
Letter sounds we have learned: P, B, T, D, K, G, F, V, S, Z short A sound....(A)pple
The students could practice combining and blending these sounds with the A sound at home! Thank you!
