Homework assignments are recorded by the students in their agendas.
Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday evenings in third
grade. We ask that it be completed accurately and neatly in pencil, and
turned in at 8:25 the following morning. Students are also asked to read
for 30 minutes each evening and record neatly on their reading logs.
If students do not complete homework or if it is not done neatly, they will
be asked to complete/correct at recess. A homework notice is sent
home for a parent signature to advise parents of the problem. Extra
corrections are also occasionally sent home.
If students have forgotten the directions or have questions about
homework, they are encouraged to call a classmate for support.
Parents are encouraged to check agendas and initial if they approve of
the students' homework. Parents are also encouraged to read with their
children and drill on basic math facts each evening. Your support is
critical to their success, and fun too!
