Program Assessment

At the end of each year, the GATE Program is evaluated for effectiveness.  Parents of identified students, students and teachers are surveyed to assess all components of the program, including level of student participation, effectiveness in meeting students' needs and program goals, communication to parents, and professional development of the teachers. Student achievement on the STAR tests and classroom performance indicators are reviewed to monitor student performance.  Results of the Annual Parent Survey conducted by the School Site Council that is submitted to all parents is reviewed for information relevant to the modification and improvement of the GATE Program.

The results of the program assessment are shared with the school community and used by the Advisory Committee, the School Site Council, and the teaching staff to assist in the development of program modifications.  A summary of the program assessment and recommended program modifications are presented to the Board of Trustees and the school community on an annual basis.
