Rainbow Day

Thank you for supporting our last Student Council sponsored school spirit day, “Rainbow Day.”  Together, we created a beautiful masterpiece!

Third Through Sixth Grade CAASPP Testing

All third through sixth-grade students are continuing to take the CAASPP assessment through the end of the month.  I can’t tell you how happy I am to hear that each student is giving their best effort.  Please continue to make sure your child comes prepared to do their best by getting a good night's sleep the night before and eating a nutritious breakfast.  Thank you!

Track and Field Athletes

Congratulations to the Cold Spring School students that made the Cold Spring Track and Field Team.  They will be representing Cold Spring School at the All Santa Barbara and Montecito Schools Track and Field Meet on Friday, May 19th at Westmont College.  Russell Smelley, the Westmont Track and Field Coach, and I started the meet almost 10 years ago as an effort to bring students together from all schools while exposing them to the sport of Track and Field in a college setting.  I’m very excited to share that we are preparing for the biggest Track and Field  meet ever with 11 schools participating (Peabody, MUS, Roosevelt, Adams, Cleveland, Washington, Harding, Monroe, Franklin, McKinley and Cold Spring). Students in grades four through six are encouraged to try out for their school team.  Every school is allowed to have two boys and two girls enter each event. Cold Spring is sponsoring the meet by providing first through third grade medals for every heat.  The meet is scored and a trophy is awarded to the top school.  After the meet, all of the students get to enjoy lunch in the Westmont College Dining Commons.  The meet is open to spectators to cheer on each of our athletes.  I can hardly wait to share my favorite sport with all of the students.
