Small School Districts’ Association State Conference
I returned last night from the Statewide Small School Districts’ Association (SSDA) State Conference in Sacramento with 400 Superintendents and Board members. It was a wonderful conference with Yuri Calderon, our esteemed Chief Business Officer and Legal Counsel, being appointed as the Executive Director of SSDA, effective June 1, 2024.
We also had two Board members attend the conference, Michael Marino and Trevor Pattison. Mr. Marino and Mr. Pattison joined Mr. Calderon and myself in sharing best Governance practices to attendees. Another highlight was leading Superintendents and Board members on a 6:30 AM run around the Capitol. Yes, Mike, Trevor and Yuri joined me! They are Rock Star leaders in every way! My final reflection was one of gratitude. I’m truly grateful to be a part of such a wonderful leadership team that strives for excellence in education not only at Cold Spring but for all children.
Running Club
This morning we had some speedy and enthusiastic runners join me around our grass field. I have attached a few photos so you can see how endorphins from running put a smile on all of our faces!

Parent/Teacher Conferences and Early Dismissal: March 18 - March 22
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be March 18 - 22. School will be dismissed early for all students all week. TK/Kindergarten will be dismissed at 1pm. 1st grade - 6th grade will be dismissed at 1:15pm. Dolphin Center will be available for all grades immediately after dismissal.
Spring Break, No School: March 25 - March 29
There will be no school the week of March 25 - March 29. The School Office is closed on March 29. Enjoy the holiday!
Parent’s Night Out: Friday, March 15th, 6:00 - 8:00 PM
I’m excited to host a Parent’s Night Out Movie Night with me on Friday, March 15th at 6:00 PM. We will be showing The Princess Bride!
