Third Grade Rain Gauges
The Cold Spring third grade students finished creating their rain gauges in adobe illustrator just in time for today's storm. The students considered tenths as fractions and decimals in order to construct their rulers for the rain gauges. They measured, practiced reading rain gauges, and finished the unit by thinking about microclimate patterns in their own region. Yesterday, we received 1.4” of rain in the garden over a 24 hour period. I’m grateful for the thoughtful planning and the Math, Science and Art integration by STEAM teacher, Dr. Jean Gradias.
Parent/Teacher Conferences and Early Dismissal: March 20 - March 24
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be March 20 - 24. School will be dismissed early for all students all week. Kindergarten will be dismissed at 1pm. 1st grade - 6th grade will be dismissed at 1:15pm. Dolphin Center will be available for all grades immediately after dismissal.
Spring Break, No School: March 27 - March 31
There will be no school the week of March 27 - March 31. The School Office is closed on March 31. Enjoy the holiday!

Santa Barbara Public Library Card Design Contest
Our friends at the Santa Barbara Public Library are issuing a new call for artists interested in having their work featured on a limited edition SBPL library card. Submissions may be made electronically through this form or in person at any SBPL location on a paper form. The deadline for submissions is March 26, 2023. One winning design will be selected by public vote for each age group. Public voting will take place March 28 through April 4 on social media, the Library’s website, and at all SBPL locations. Library cards with the winning designs will be announced at the Library’s Open House at Central Library on April 27 in celebration of National Library Week. Winners will receive a $100 gift certificate to Art Essentials, courtesy of the Santa Barbara Public Library Foundation.

Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten Enrollment, 2023-24 School Year
Incoming TK/Kindergarten Enrollment is happening now! Please contact the office to start the enrollment process so we can begin planning for the 2023-2024 school year. The Transitional Kindergarten window has been extended. If your child's 5th birthday falls between September 2nd and April 2nd, they qualify for Transitional Kindergarten. If you know anyone who is interested in taking a school tour, our next tour date is: Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 9:00 AM
