Dear Cold Spring Families,
I hope you have been enjoying your parent–teacher conferences this week as we wrap up our first trimester. Our teachers truly value this time to connect with you and partner together in support of your children.
As we head into Thanksgiving break, we’re looking forward to our annual Turkey Trot run this Friday, a joyful tradition that brings our whole community together. We will also be hosting our informal Kids vs. Parents Thanksgiving Morning Soccer Game at 9:30 AM, and all families are welcome, whether you’re jumping in to play or cheering from the sidelines!
I’m also writing this message from Arizona, where I had the honor of presenting at the National AI Summit. I shared the work we are doing in California, and especially at Cold Spring, to help ensure all Superintendents, Administrators, Teachers, Staff, and Students are truly future ready. The conference highlighted the World Economic Forum’s projected key skills for 2030, including systems thinking, creativity, resilience, technological literacy, and AI and big-data readiness. These align beautifully with the experiences we are designing every day for our students. I am incredibly proud of how far we’ve come and excited for the path ahead.
Thank you for your partnership, your encouragement, and your commitment to our school community. I am deeply grateful for the connection we share and the trust you place in us.
Warmly,
Dr. Alzina

Cold Spring Families are Invited to a Free Preview of “The Rules of Comedy”
Cold Spring families are invited by Santa Barbara Unified School District to a FREE preview of their fall play, “The Rules of Comedy,” this Wednesday, November 19 at 4 PM.
The audience will enjoy a fun, silly performance where classic comedy tropes are used to retell the final scene of Hamlet. (Please note there is a brief moment with flashing lights.)
We’re also excited to share that two Cold Spring alumni, Maisie Claffey and Scarlett Kane, will be performing in the production!
We hope to see you there!

Fall Food Drive

Cold Spring's Student Council is partnering with the Unity Shoppe to support local families in need this holiday season.
From now until the end of November, Cold Spring's is collecting non-perishable food items to donate. See below for some suggestions.
Students can drop off their contributions in their grade designated collection box. The grade level that collects the most items will earn a pizza party!
Turkey Trot is This Friday!
