Our 2nd graders are stitching math into art—literally! Students explored Common Core geometry standards by sewing lines of symmetry into their own “quilt blocks.” Hands-on learning at its best! 💡🪡

Get ready to experience the magic of true integrated learning at Cold Spring School! Our incredible 6th graders have completed a multidisciplinary project that weaves together:
🎨 Art & Technology: Students used Adobe Illustrator to design and create custom visuals after hand-drawing their initial ideas; blending traditional art techniques with modern digital design skills.
➗ Math: Precision matters! Students applied concepts like ratios, proportions, measurement, and geometry to ensure their creations were mathematically accurate and professionally scaled. 🎶 Music: To deepen the creative experience, students will integrated musical composition, connecting rhythm, pattern, and storytelling to their final multimedia presentations during this Thursday's Spring Sing performance.
🧠 Critical Thinking Across Subjects: Students used reading, writing, and research skills to bring depth and meaning to their designs, ensuring they align with broader project themes.
This project is a beautiful example of how Common Core Standards can come alive through hands-on, real-world learning experiences; nurturing not just academic growth but also creativity, innovation, and collaboration. We are so proud of our students' passion and hard work!
Proud to share our Cold Spring students did an outstanding job representing our school at this year’s SBCEO Battle of the Books! This enriching event brought together readers from across Santa Barbara county to celebrate their love of literature and showcase their teamwork and knowledge.
