The Santa Barbara community is warmly invited to meet newly elected Santa Barbara County Supervisor Roy Lee. Join us on Saturday, June 8th at 10 AM in the Cold Spring School auditorium. This event offers a great opportunity for Supervisor Lee to introduce himself and engage with community members. We look forward to seeing you there!

This morning, our TK/K students joyfully planted two Gala Apple trees in our garden, made possible by our SB Beautiful and SB Arborist partners. In the coming weeks, they will also plant an Oak tree located between our two outdoor classrooms. I'm grateful for our community!

WE all contribute to building and maintaining a positive school culture and climate!

I am delighted to announce with tears in my eyes and the gracious consent of his parents, that Ben De Oliveira, a distinguished fifth-grade student in the Cold Spring School District's Deaf and Hard of Hearing program, achieved 2nd place in the Santa Barbara County Spelling Bee!

Cold Spring School will resume on Tuesday, February 6th!

Happy 100th Day of School from the Cold Spring School District!

I am hearing that Storm #2 continues to have the potential for damaging rain, strong winds, and lots of mountain snow.
At this time, there is a 40-50% chance of this system bringing 3-5” of rainfall countywide and 5-10” in the mountains and foothills.

It's a beautiful day for our Transitional Kindergarten students to have Art class in the garden. These students were excited to eat their snack from the ceramic bowls they made before engaging in some garden artwork.

Our "Sixth Grade Activist" mural, an inspiring display of student talent and dedication to global issues, is now complete. Blending art, research, and digital design, this project flourished in Art class and integrated seamlessly with STEAM lessons and academic research inside the classroom. Visit room 7 to experience this remarkable work.

A special shout-out to the Finster Family for representing Cold Spring School District in the Montecito Holiday Parade! #SchoolSpirit

It's always a highlight for me—the Annual Turkey Trot run! I'm thrilled to see my alma mater, Westmont College, join by sending two fantastic student Track athletes to play the role of our Turkeys. Happy Thanksgiving from the Cold Spring School District!

We are grateful for the opportunity to host Christian Jackson, the founder of EDAPT School's AI Sidekick, who conducted an enriching AI workshop for administrators and teachers in Santa Barbara County at Cold Spring School District. Together, we are fostering a spirit of collaborative learning and growth, all with the shared goal of providing the best possible education for our students.

We had a great conversation with Assemblyman Gregg Hart about maintaining local control for school districts. His commitment to public service and education, plus his background work with former state superintendent of instruction Jack O'Connell, is truly appreciated.

Wow! We had such great attendance during today's Parent Professional Development with Dr. Brooke Sears. Dr. Sears spent the morning helping us all better understand how to parent and support our children. I have attached a list of resources she shared with the group. They include a recommended reading list for students and adults, a coping strategies list, and strategies for reversing the cycle of anxiety. I'm looking forward to our next Parent Professional Development with Dr. Rosy Bucio, Santa Barbara County Special Education Behavior Specialist, on November 13th at 8:25 AM. Dr. Bucio will be presenting on "Anxiety and How to Successfully Monitor you Child's Technology use at home."
